What is a Food Desert?
"Food deserts are defined as urban neighborhoods and rural towns without ready access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food. Instead of supermarkets and grocery stores, these communities may have no food access or are served only by fast food restaurants and convenience stores that offer few healthy, affordable food options. The lack of access contributes to a poor diet and can lead to higher levels of obesity and other diet-related diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease." - USDA
Indicators :
Indicators of a potential food desert are flow income and low access areas. Below we have maps from the USDA Food Access Atlas in areas of interest with respect to our operations our supporters and what GOD has placed in our heart.
We display this information to bring awareness and to be apart of the solution. We don't have to be THE solution; however, we firmly believe that by inviting us to the table, we can indeed help navigate the lessons learned from other projects. We believe there is no need to re-invent the wheel; however, we can model and style the car to a fit a communities desires while meeting all of their needs to drive them to victory.

Map Legend: The Tint of the Orange on the map indicates the risk/severity of the food deserts. Darker the orange the higher the risk. No orange indicates no measured risk. However, our homegrown maps tailored for each city have shown hidden/masked areas of concern.
